Deep web is distinct from dark web. The “dark web” is the encrypted network that exists between Tor servers and their clients,
whereas the “deep web” is simply the content of databases and other web services that for one reason or another cannot be indexed by conventional search engines. such as google or Bing name it
Neither the deep web nor the dark web can be indexed, but not all that cannot be indexed is the dark web
Dark Websites can’t be tracked.

What is the Dark web?

The dark web refers to the section of the internet that cannot be discovered by conventional means.
Users cannot access this section either through a Google search or by entering the URL of a site.
As the websites remain hidden, they are a safe haven for cyber criminals who created underground marketplaces for selling illicit and banned good and services, including firearms, narcotics, chemicals, illegal pornography and counterfeit goods and services such as hacking.
Many of the dark web activities are carried out using the Tor (The Onion Router) anonymity network which serves to disguise web traffic.

How to access the Dark web?

Dark websites have an onion extension they can be accessed with the Tor browser available for free
You can find installation instructions for Tor on other operating systems on the same page.

you don’t just jump into these dark websites there is what they call the Hidden wiki. Your dark web directory

These sites may contain links to illegal services and are provided for informational purposes only.
If you’re scammed or get yourself into trouble, your recourse against the people you’ve dealt with
is likely to be limited at best.

I2P is  another anonymous overlay network, and is quite a bit more complex to learn and use than Tor. I generally recommend it to more advanced users. I2P allows users to send messages, chat, blog, and share files pseudonymously.

You can also browse its hidden services, called “eepsites,” which are similar to Tor’s hidden services, known as “.onion sites.” I2P, in particular, is known for anonymous torrenting.

If you want to try it, go to I2P Anonymous Network .

In the darker corners of the Dark Web, a vibrant and gruesome black market for live organs thrives. Kidneys may fetch $200,000, hearts $120,000, livers $150,000, and a pair of eyeballs $1,500.

7. Hackers For HireOrganized cybercrime syndicates outsource hackers-for-hire. China’s Hidden Lynx group boasts up to 100 professional cyberthieves, some of whom are known to have penetrated systems at Google, Adobe, and Lockheed Martin.

In mid-2014, a hacker created Grams, the Dark Web’s first distributed search engine. Grams allows would-be criminals to search for drugs, guns, and stolen bank accounts across multiple hidden sites. It even includes an “I’m Feeling Lucky” button and targeted ads where drug dealers compete for clicks.

Should I notify the police about illegal stuff that I see on the dark web?

As we know the hacking begins where the security ends up.

Legally – You probably should, as you are most likely (I don’t know where you live) required to report any criminal activity, however you won’t really help as they most likely know about it and you could get in trouble for searching for such things

My informal advice – Don’t, you’d probably be in more danger than if you do. Suppose that you’d tell the police and by some miracle they didn’t already know – how long before someone bribes the policeman to tell them who told them? Sure, it’s the worst case scenario,

Oh and by the way, unless you plan to do the crime – don’t search for these places. If you visit weapons market, tutorials on how to create nuclear weapons and other diy bombs, child pornography sites (fine, maybe not this one) and then the police comes knocking on your door (or better yet – knocking it down), how are you going to explain that you only wanted to check what it looks like?

If it’s the disturbing stuff you’re looking for, spend enough time on some of these networks, and you’ll likely come across it.
